The High-clean Water Softener uses ion exchange to remove calcium and magnesium particles from the water. Special resin beads bind these minerals, producing soft water and significantly reducing limescale. The resin can treat approximately 1,000 litres of water per cycle and can then be easily regenerated using ordinary table salt. This makes the Water Softener suitable for long-term and frequent use.
The High-clean Pure Water HCPW557 system uses deionisation and removes salts and other dissolved minerals from the water as well as limescale. The mixed bed resin produces ultrapure water that leaves no streaks, spots or mineral residue when it dries. This makes the system ideal for streak-free cleaning of windows, solar panels and more. In short, the Water Softener turns hard water into soft water, while the Pure Water system removes virtually all dissolved minerals.
The main difference in water quality lies in the amount of minerals removed from the water. The Water Softener primarily removes calcium and magnesium, producing softened water. However, other dissolved minerals may remain in the water. As a result, faint streaks or spots may still appear after drying, and it may be necessary to dry the surface with a cloth.
The Pure Water system uses deionisation to remove virtually all dissolved minerals and salts from the water. This means no mineral residue remains when the water dries, giving you a streak-free result without drying. Pure Water is therefore particularly suitable for applications where a completely spotless finish is important, such as cleaning windows, solar panels and smooth surfaces.
The Water Softener can be regenerated with ordinary table salt after softening approximately 1,000 litres of water. Once this is done, it is ready for the next 1,000 litres.
Pure Water uses 4.5 litres of mixed bed resin, which is enough to demineralise approximately 500 litres of water. This is equivalent to two hours of continuous cleaning. In practice, this averages around six cleaning sessions for a home, depending on the water quality and water consumption. It can then be refilled with a refill bag.
The Water Softener package contains everything you need to soften water. The resin can be regenerated using table salt. In addition to the water softener, you receive a water meter, inlet hose, drain hose and quick connectors. The drain hose is used to discharge the water while regenerating with salt. The included test strips allow you to check the water hardness. Bear in mind that each test strip can only be used once, so you will eventually need to buy new strips. The absorbent cloth is useful for quickly soaking up any spilled water.
The Pure Water package is specially designed for producing and monitoring mineral-free water. The package contains a 4.5-litre bag of Premium Mixed Bed Resin, an inlet hose with connectors and an extra quick connector. The digital TDS meter lets you directly and repeatedly measure how many dissolved substances remain in the water. This eliminates the need for separate test strips and a water meter, and means there are no recurring costs for measuring strips. Each package therefore provides precisely the accessories suited to the operation and application of the respective system.
